We designed a method to animate the light streaks with Cinema 4d in a streamlined and fast workflow. What started out as an entirely digital animated alphabet project, quickly changed directions to be more presentational. Jake and I went to hardware stores and apex electronics to shoot physical hardware elements for use as assets, along with a modular type system for easy modification on the client side. C4D's speed and versatility was vital to delivering this project on a 72 hour turnaround. The balloon strings were done with the Hair module, and the pages are all mograph. The cartridge and printer I rendered with Sketch and Toon, I also did the character rigging and animation on this spot in AE. Trevor Shepard composited. We pitched these 3 concepts as well as mood boards with written treatments for our direction. Our animation was later used at the end of a long product demo produced by DIGITAL KITCHEN.
